The 2019 season so far...

As we head into this year's State of Origin series we have an opportunity to reflect on the season so far.

We started with thrilling momentum, winning five consecutive games in the first five rounds.

While we recorded comfortable wins in our first three games (Broncos at home, Raiders in Canberra and Panthers in Bathurst) the next two matches were hard-fought, grinding wins (Bulldogs at home and Cowboys in Townsville).

A golden point loss to the Roosters in round 6 ended our winning streak but we snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against the Warriors on ANZAC Day through a Brodie Croft field goal.

Round eight was a low point as an undermanned Sharks side outplayed us in Cronulla but we responded with ruthless intent in Magic Round, thumping the Eels by 54 points.

It was another against the grain victory when we faced the Tigers, trailing by eight points with just over 10 minutes remaining, while we controlled the play throughout our second win over the Bulldogs.

After the first 11 games, legendary skipper Cameron Smith boasts 96% tackle efficiency and 5 try assists.

He eclipsed the all-time points scoring record in round five and has added 78 points to his career total (2,464 points) this season.

In-form five-eighth Cam Munster averages three tackle breaks per game and has scored 5 tries, with 5 try assists, while the electrifying Josh Addo-Carr has crossed for 9 tries in 10 games and averages 133 running metres per game.
