Melbourne Storm is proud to confirm the Club’s upcoming home game against the Wests Tigers on Sunday 10 May at AAMI Park will once again be dedicated to The Bella Tripp Foundation.
The special fixture has become one of the most meaningful dates on Storm’s annual calendar, celebrating the life and legacy of Bella Tripp, while raising awareness and support for the important work of The Bella Tripp Foundation.
Melbourne Storm Chairman Matt Tripp and his wife Yas Tripp established the Foundation in honour of their daughter Bella, who sadly passed away in April 2022.
Bella passed away at the age of 14 from a respiratory complication resulting from a bone marrow transplant following a lengthy battle with leukaemia.
The Bella Tripp Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation whose fundraising aims to achieve early detection of, and treatment solutions for, respiratory complications arising from bone marrow transplants in children.
The Foundation aims to reduce and hopefully one day eliminate the risk of these respiratory complications through raising awareness, providing researchers with much needed funding to tackle this issue, and providing children and families the support they need through their difficult journey.
Storm players, staff, members, and fans will come together to honour Bella’s memory on Sunday 10 May and support families who have been impacted by, or are currently facing, similar circumstances.
Fans attending the game will have the opportunity to support The Bella Tripp Foundation through a range of gameday initiatives, including ‘Braids for Bella’, with hair braiding in Storm colours available at the Club’s fan zone, Purple Paddock.
Merchandise will also be available throughout key locations at AAMI Park, including Bella’s ‘Mr Piggy’ plush toy and the official Bella Tripp Foundation cap.
Melbourne Storm CEO Justin Rodski said the Club was proud to continue its long-standing support of the Foundation.
“Since our first Bella Tripp Foundation fixture in 2024, this gameday has become one of the most special and important occasions on our calendar, and one that holds a special place in the hearts of everyone at Storm,” Rodski said.
“It is an opportunity for our Club and community to come together, remember Bella, and support the important work the Foundation continues to do for families facing incredibly difficult circumstances.
“To have the game coincide with Mother’s Day weekend makes the occasion even more meaningful, as we look forward to an exciting Sunday afternoon of rugby league at AAMI Park, kicking-off at the family-friendly time of 2pm.”
