Easts Tigers fell short by a single point in their Round 1 trip to Central Queensland last week.

Winger Linc Port levelled the scores with a try in the 67th minute however a 77th minute field goal to the Capras saw them walk away with the points.

Storm had three players in action; Brandon Smith, Patrick Kaufusi and Scott Drinkwater.

Smith was terrific steering the ship at hooker while new recruit Kaufusi helped the Easts defence stand tall early under a mountain of pressure.

“Brandon was very good, he played 80 minutes and ran the ball really strongly,” Storm Head of Development Marc Brentnall said.

“Pat was fairly solid, they did a fair bit of defence early on and it was a good start by him. Drinky set up a couple of tries and looked dangerous with the ball.”

Easts Tigers will be back in action this Sunday when they host Mackay Cutters at Suzuki Stadium.

CQ CAPRAS 15 (William Cullen, Zeik Foster tries; Connor Broadhurst 3 goals; Blake Goodman field goal) def EASTS TIGERS 14 (Linc Port 2, Brett Greinke tries; Scott Drinkwater goal) at Browne Park.
