HostPlus Cup: who's playing for who

Each season the players in Melbourne Storm’s NRL squad are allocated to our Hostplus Cup feeder clubs.

This gives our players not involved in the NRL game that weekend the chance to travel to Queensland play first grade rugby league with either the Brisbane Tigers or Sunshine Coast Falcons.

As well as helping our older players stay match fit and ready for an NRL call-up, it provides the club’s best young talent with a great chance to test their skills and improve their games in senior football just one level below the NRL.

The initial feeder club allocation, which takes into account a number of factors including the ability of the player to line up in his preferred position, has taken place and has seen three players switch clubs for the 2023 season which began last weekend. Former Tigers Aaron Pene, Jayden Nikorima and Tom Eisenhuth will now wear the gold and black of the Falcons.

Storm newcomers Joe Chan and Tristan Powell have been allocated to the Tigers.

Further allocations from Storm’s NRL squad will take place as required during the season.
