Storm forward Jordan McLean is excited about the opportunity that awaits following a strong 2016 season at club level.

The hard running prop enjoyed a career best season, cementing a starting front-row position in Craig Bellamy's side and played more than 20 games for the first time since making his debut in 2013.

As a result of his strong form, McLean has been rewarded in recent weeks with selection in both NSW's Emerging Origin squad and Mal Meninga's World All Stars side with higher representative honours looming in 2017.

"I was a bit surprised I got picked," McLean told Storm TV.

"If I ever got the chance to play for NSW I would love to, it's obviously a goal in the near future."
