Fa’alogo and Blore called up for Samoa

Melbourne Storm fullback Sua Fa’alogo and forward Shawn Blore have been selected in Samoa’s 23-player squad for the 2026 Rugby League World Cup.

Fa’alogo has been rewarded for his breakout 2026 season, with the Victorian playing all 24 games for Storm and being crowned the Club’s Cameron Smith Player of the Year.

The 23-year-old, who made his Test debut for Samoa against Australia in 2023, will look to add to his two international appearances at his first World Cup.

Blore, who departs Storm for Brisbane at the conclusion of the 2026 season, has also been named in the Samoan squad. The forward has played 61 NRL games for Storm since making his Club debut in 2024 and has represented Samoa twice at Test level.

Storm Assistant Coach Ryan Hinchcliffe has also been named to continue in his coaching role with Samoa for the 2026 Rugby League World Cup.

Samoa will kick-off its World Cup campaign against France on Friday 16 October, before facing Papua New Guinea on Saturday 24 October and Tonga on Sunday 1 November.
