Melbourne Storm has signed Gold Coast Titans prop Matthew White in a move that will see the Club bolster its forward stocks.

White, 31, from Inverell in New South Wales, is a veteran of 11 NRL seasons, will join Storm for 2016 having spent seven seasons with the Titans.

The hard working forward has 151 first grade appearances to his name having first made his debut with Newcastle Knights in 2005. White has played 13 games for the Titans this season.

Storm Football Director Frank Ponissi said, “Matt is a player we’ve followed for a while so we are pleased to have him join the Club next season.

“The Club has a history of successfully recruiting experienced front rowers that have had an significant impact on the Club such as Bryan Norrie, Jaiman Lowe, Jason Ryles and Brett White and we believe Matt will make a similar contribution to the one these players have.”

White said he was looking forward to joining Melbourne Storm and excited by a new challenge.

“I’m really looking forward to joining Storm, it’s a great opportunity and I’ve heard so many good things about the Club and living in Melbourne,” White said.

“I’m excited by the chance to play under Craig Bellamy and be part of a playing group that’s lead by Cameron Smith.

“I’ve had a great seven seasons at the Titans and feel privileged to be part of a Club with a great bunch of guys and I’d like to thank my teammates, coaches and the fans for the support they’ve shown me.”

White will relocate to Melbourne in November to join the start of pre-season training with his new teammates.
