NSW Cup Report: Round 12

Melbourne Storm’s NSW Cup side were defeated 38-14 by the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs last Saturday in Sydney.

The Bulldogs made a fast start, crossing in the opening minute before adding further tries to build early momentum. Storm’s first points came through Angus Hinchey in the 36th minute as Melbourne worked to stay within reach heading into the break.

The Bulldogs continued to apply pressure throughout the first half, taking a 22-4 lead into halftime.

The Bulldogs maintained control after the interval, extending their advantage despite Storm continuing to compete across the full 80 minutes.

Lazarus Vaalepu crossed early in the second half, with Hayden Watson adding the conversion before he later scored a try of his own in the 72nd minute.

Despite periods of strong attacking football, Storm were unable to contain the Bulldogs’ momentum as the home side secured the 38-14 victory.

Storm will look to bounce back this Saturday against the Sydney Roosters at AAMI Park for Round 13.
