Jersey Flegg Report: Round 25

Melbourne Storm’s Jersey Flegg side has finished its home campaign on a high, securing an impressive 34-22 victory over the Penrith Panthers at Seabrook Reserve in Round 25. 

The Storm overcame an early deficit to produce a strong attacking performance, running in six tries to claim an important win in front of the home crowd. 

After conceding two early tries, Melbourne responded in the 19th minute as Waka Hammond scooped up a loose ball and breezed through the Panthers defence to open Storm’s account. 

The momentum continued in Storm’s favour just three minutes later, with Ben Stringer finding the line before Amaziah Murgha added another try in the 25th minute. 

Victory Isaako converted each of Melbourne’s first three tries, helping the Storm take control of the contest. 

Jett Ryan then won the race to an Eli Morris grubber in the 39th minute to give Melbourne a fourth try heading into the break, with Isaako converting to send the Storm into half-time with a 22-10 advantage. 

The Panthers came out strongly after the interval, but Melbourne shut down their momentum and responded through an Isaako try in the 52nd minute. 

Lockyer-Azile Foliola sealed the result with a late try in the 77th minute, with Isaako converting the final try to finish the afternoon with five successful conversions from six attempts. 

The 34-22 victory gives the Storm a winning finish to their final home game of the 2026 season, with the side producing a composed performance to secure the result after a challenging start. 

Storm’s Jersey Flegg side will now turn their attention to their final game of the 2026 season against the Silktails in Lautoka, Fiji on August 29 at 10am AEST.
