Melbourne Storm has announced a new partnership with Australian video game developer Big Ant Studios for the next four seasons.
Best known as the developers behind the Rugby League 26 video game, Big Ant Studios originally joined forces with Storm as the official Matchday Partner in Round 25, 2025 at AAMI Park.
More than 25,000 fans packed into AAMI Park for the blockbuster fixture against the Bulldogs, where excitement extended well beyond the footy field. In celebration of the game’s launch, Rugby League 26 was made available in the Storm Fan Zone, giving supporters the chance to play the game and go head-to-head with fellow fans.
The action continued a half-time, with one lucky fan offered the chance to play Rugby League 26 against Storm player Siulagi Tuimalatu-Brown on the AAMI Park big screen.
Melbourne Storm CEO Justin Rodski said the partnership highlights the Club’s commitment to innovation and fan engagement.
“We’re excited to welcome Big Ant Studios to the Storm family. Rugby League 26 gives our fans an incredible new way to engage with the game they love, playing as their favourite stars.
“Our Round 25 matchday activation last year was a huge success and a great example of how sport and technology can come together to elevate the fan experience.”
Founded in Melbourne, Big Ant Studios is one of the world’s leading developers of sports video games. With a strong track record including titles across cricket, AFL, and tennis, the studio continues to elevate the digital representation of Australian sport.
Big Ant Studios CEO Ross Symons said the partnership with Storm was a natural fit.
“What makes Melbourne Storm special is its deep connection with its fans, and that truly resonates with us. It is a genuine privilege to partner with an organisation that puts its supporters at the heart of everything it does, and we can’t wait to crack on and work together to create engaging experiences that fans will love.”
