Our Round 9 Match Day partner, Men of League, strive to care for the men, woman and children of the rugby league community.
In 2002 former players Ron Coote, Jim Hall and Max Brown identified there was a pressing need to establish a network that accessed the tight-knit rugby league community’s desire to help its own. And so the Men of League Foundation was established.
The Melbourne committee was formed in 2011 and included former Storm players Robbie Kearns and Danny Williams along with John Ribot founder of the storm, Greg Brentnall (former Rothmans Fold Medal winner) and also included Roy Masters who had a long career as a successful coach in Sydney.
Whether you are an ex-player, an administrator, referee, or club volunteer; whether you are a man, woman or child, Men of League Foundation protects and enhances lives while respecting each individual’s dignity.
The Foundation has grown to be the charity of rugby league. Its mission remains to provide a wide range of wellbeing support and referrals in a professional and timely manner to those within the rugby league community who are in genuine need and are unable to overcome that need within their own resources.
Since their inception, Men of League, are proud to have been able to;
- Provide $10 million in support to those in need
- Deliver 10 thousand hours of volunteer support
- Have established 39 local committees around Australia
