A letter from the CEO

To our members, Feeling proud? Yes, absolutely. Satisfied? Not yet.

What a way to wake up yesterday knowing our team – your team – has had another record-breaking home and away season.

The win on Friday was capped off a remarkable year having equalled the record of consecutive wins in one season, finishing with the highest points differential in the history of the game and securing the J.J. Giltinan Shield as minor premiers for the eighth time in our history and the fourth time in the last six seasons.

It’s the sixth consecutive season we have finished in the top two at the end of the home and away season and the seventh consecutive season finishing in the top four.

And now, we turn our attention to the finals and a chance to win back-to-back premierships for the first time in our history.

What makes this even more remarkable is our players and football staff have again been relocated to QLD for the second year in a row, living under strict COVID protocols, and missing the opportunity to play at our AAMI Park home in front of you, our proud and passionate members.

I know we have said this before but I want to say it again, the loyalty of our members through this period has been nothing short of incredible, you continue to stick by us, and there is no doubting we could not have achieved the success we have over the last two years without your support.

We have achieved a new membership record this year, and despite all of the challenges our community has faced,  the commitment of our Melbourne Storm members has never wavered.

So, if anyone should be proud of what we have achieved so far this season, it is you. Be proud that you are part of the Storm Family along with the players, the coaches, staff, partners and Board members.

However, for all the records that we have broken this year, we still have a job ahead of us. Taking home the minor premiership is a great achievement, but Craig and his players know there is only one prize they would like to bring home to our members.

Whatever the result in the coming weeks, wherever you are around Australia cheering on the Mighty Melbourne Storm, we should all feel very proud of this team and our Club. I know I am.

Bring on the Purple Reign.

Go Storm! Justin Rodski
