Glasby focused on job at hand

It was a bitter sweet moment for Tim Glasby last week when he announced he would be departing Melbourne at the end of the season.

The Rockhampton product joined Storm as a mature aged recruit in 2013 and has since developed from an Intrust Super Cup player into a Queensland Origin representative.

"It's a bit bitter sweet – we're very sad to be leaving Storm," Glasby said.

"At the same time we're excited for the next opportunity and adventure.

"I've certainly reflected a little bit on my time here."

While Newcastle have secured the hard running forward's services from next season, there is no doubting where Glasby's focus sits in the immediate future – and that is firmly fixed in Melbourne.

"I've had a great time here over the last six years and I'm wanting to finish on a good note," Glasby said.

"While I'm leaving at the end of the year my focus is solely here at Storm at the moment."

Glasby and his teammates travel to Townsville this afternoon in preparation for their Round 12 showdown with the Cowboys where Storm will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing display at home against Manly last week.

"The biggest issue was our errors which has been a bit of a theme this year," Glasby said.

"We've really had a good look at that and that's been our main focus for this week.

"Usually with short turnarounds you get back to the basics. I think that's what we need to do this week."
