A season that started with so much promise was unfortunately cruelled by a season ending injury midway through the season.

Prior to that Blair had proved a rock-solid, consistent performer in the left centre position alongside speedster Josh Addo-Carr.

The 25-year-old scored five tries for the season, including three in the first four games.

He played 12 of the first 13 games before his campaign was cut short due to a fractured right ankle that he ultimately succumbed to in Round 18 against the Eels.

Curtis Scott stepped up in Blair’s absence and played extremely well, which will make for some healthy competition for that No.4 jersey throughout the summer and into next season.

By the time the 2017 campaign had ended Blair was already back on his feet, running and setting his sights on a big return in 2018.
