Christian Welch and Harry Grant have been reward for their hard work off the field by being named in the NRL and NYC Academic Team of the Year.
The pair received the accolade at the RLPA awards on Tuesday night in recognition of their achievements in education.
Welch was named in the NRL academic team after receiving his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Melbourne University earlier this year.
Grant also earned his Certificate III in Electrical, completing the course at TAFE Queensland East Coast – Nambour. The Thunderbolts captain was also named the NYC Player of the Year on the night.
More than 400 current and retired players receive education grants from the NRL-RLPA wellbeing committee with 22% of all NRL and NYC players have, or are currently completing, a University degree.
