After being part of Mal Meninga’s Australian squad during Representative Round, many believe McLean is now ready to pull on a NSW jersey for this year’s State of Origin series.

The 25-year-old has been in outstanding form this season, averaging just under 11 metres per carry across the opening 10 rounds,

That experience in the Kangaroos camp is the perfect preparation for what may lie ahead for McLean in the coming weeks.

"It was awesome; I was over the moon when I got the call-up," McLean told AAP.

"I got a lot of experience out of it with just the way they go about their business during the week.

"I think that experience definitely helps and a few of those boys already play in the NSW Origin team so getting to know them beforehand helps."

Blues coach Laurie Daley will name his first squad of this year’s series next Monday before Game I kicks off on May 31 at Suncorp Stadium.

We return to AAMI Park on June 2. Watch us take on the Knights!
