Dale Finucane is ready for State of Origin football.

The man is built for the Origin arena and it cannot be long before NSW finally makes the right call.

The 25-year-old announced on Wednesday he would remain in Melbourne for the at least the next four years.

With Paul Gallen retiring from Origin football, the next feather in Finucane’s cap would be a Blues jersey.

“Dale definitely has a future at rep level, he is what rep footy is all about to be quite honest,” coach Craig Bellamy said.

“He is very capable of playing a higher level than what he is playing at the moment. To me he is an Origin player and there is no reason why he won’t go on to be an Origin player.

“Hopefully he will get his chance this year because he has started the year in great form again.”

Finucane has gained 364 metres and made 105 tackles in the first three weeks, stats that rank him second at the Club in each category.

If he continues to perform at the level he is, there is not much more Finucane can do to earn that call up.
