Jersey Flegg Report: Round 21

Melbourne Storm’s Jersey Flegg side went down 44-22 to the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Round 21 after an even opening half at Redfern Oval. 

Storm made an outstanding start to the contest with Ronnic Starkey crossing in just the 5th minute before Amare Milford finished off another attacking movement five minutes later to give Melbourne an early 12-0 advantage.  

The Rabbitohs responded with three consecutive tries to edge in front before Ben Stringer crashed over late in the opening half, allowing Storm to head into the break with the scores tied at 18-18.  

The Rabbitohs gained momentum after halftime, scoring early in the second period to put pressure back on Melbourne. 

Victory Isaako crossed in the 57th minute to keep Storm in the contest, while also adding his third successful conversion of the afternoon. 

Despite continuing to create opportunities in attack, Storm were unable to slow the Rabbitohs momentum, as they added late tries to secure their 44-22 win. 

Storm will now turn their attention to next week's home clash against the Bulldogs as they look to return to the winner's list.
