Felise Kaufusi played 21 games in 2016 as he took a significant step forward in his second year at the top level.
The 24-year-old scored four tries, including a double inside the opening 20 minutes against Wests Tigers in Round 16.
He ran for a total of 1294 metres, coming off the bench for most of the year and made three starting appearances in the second row.
The biggest highlight of Kaufusi’s season was his call up to the Queensland squad during the 2016 State of Origin series.
He was named 18th man for Game III by Maroons coach Kevin Walters, a significant reward for his impressive development in recent seasons.
