Storm confirm Vaalepu departure

Melbourne Storm can confirm prop Lazarus Vaalepu has been granted an immediate release to take up an opportunity with English Super League club Leigh Leopards.

The 27-year-old departs the Club after playing 11 NRL games for Melbourne Storm.

A Canberra Raiders junior, Vaalepu progressed through the Wynnum Manly Seagulls and Sunshine Coast Falcons before earning his NRL opportunity with Storm ahead of the 2023 season.

Valeepu made his NRL debut against the Sydney Roosters in Round 20, 2024 before making an appearance off the bench in the Grand Final against Penrith.

The Club thanks Laz for his contribution to Melbourne Storm and wishes him all the best ahead of his move to the UK.
