When Cooper Cronk and Cameron Smith take to the field for Saturday night’s Preliminary final they will achieve something no other teammates ever have before.
For the first time in NRL history two 300-game players will appear in the same team.
Cronk will reach the illustrious milestone on Saturday night while Smith will play game 334 in the purple jersey.
Few have managed to accomplish what the champion duo have in their careers and this weekend they will deservingly carve their own, unique chapter into rugby league’s history books.
Cronk made his Storm debut in 2004, two years after Smith and the pair have enjoyed incredible success together at Club, Origin, and International level.
In their 14 years as teammates they have taken part in 13 finals series and played in five grand finals.
Throw in the six Origin series wins they have shared as well as a World Cup triumph and it is fair to say the game has rarely seen a dynamic duo quick like Cronk and Smith.
