The Falcons have kept themselves in the hunt for a finals sport with a 28-16 win over Tweed Heads Seagulls on Sunday.

It was Sunshine Coast's second straight win and moved them within a point of Souths Logan Magpies on the Intrust Super Cup ladder.

Be at AAMI Park when we take on the Rabbitohs, Saturday 6 August, 7:30pm.

Storm had eight players step out for the Falcons with Richie Kennar starring with a first-half hat trick inside the opening half hour of the game.

The winger was joined by his Melbourne teammates in putting up strong performances on the day.

“It was great to see Richie bounce back to form, he looked like he was back to his best on the weekend,” Falcons coach Craig Ingebrigtsen said.

“It was good to see him and Morgs together on that left side. I thought they did a good job of tearing the Tweed right-hand side defence apart to be honest.”

“Mark Nicholls’ first stint was really good. He did a lot of defence, tidied up for us and did a lot of the little things right. He was really good on the weekend, I thought that was probably his best game for us so far this season.”

The stage is now set for a crucial match-up with the sixth-placed Magpies this Sunday at Davies Park.
