Easts Tigers maintained touching distance with the Intrust Super Cup top four, defeating Tweed Heads Seagulls 28-10 on Saturday.

Four unanswered tries in the first half set up the win with Dean Britt and Young Tonumaipea both crossing the line inside the opening 20 minutes.

Be at AAMI Park when we take on the Tigers, Sunday 26 June, 4pm.

Developing Storm prop Francis Tualau claimed man of the match honours for his standout performance as he lead the Tigers' pack from the front.

“He got the player’s player award so he was outstanding, he ran for 169 metres so he was a handful for the opposition,” Easts coach Scott Sipple said.

“He found the ball a few more times and went looking for it when we needed a guy to do a tough run.

“Not only that but he was constantly making 15 metres every carry and taking blokes with him.”

Easts Tigers now sit just one point outside the top four.

They face a tough test against the fifth placed and fellow Storm feeder side Sunshine Coast this Saturday.

The game will be played at Sunshine Coast Stadium at 3pm.

Easts Tigers 28 (Javarn White 2, Leon Ellia-Niukore, Dean Britt, Young Tonumaipea, Dane Chang tries; Guy Hamilton, Brentt Warr goals) def Tweed Heads Seagulls 10 (Leva Li, Shannon Walker tries; Doug Hewitt goal) at Suzuki Stadium, Langlands Park.
