Trial match form will be well and truly out the window when Storm meet the Dragons at AAMI Park on Monday night to kick off season 2016.

Storm did not showcase their full potential in trials against Wests Tigers and the Bulldogs while the Dragons have experienced mixed results in their summer hit-outs.

However as we approach the real stuff, all that counts for little in the eyes of Storm skipper Cameron Smith.

“If I’m honest I don’t think the Dragons will read too much into our two pre-season games,” he said.

Be there in Round 1 on Monday 7 March at AAMI Park.

“I don’t think they’ll be coming down to Melbourne next Monday thinking it is going to be a walk-over for them.

“We played these guys same round, same day last year and I think we may have only got up by (eight) points.”

The Dragons enjoyed a convincing 46-10 win over the pre-season fancied Warriors nearly a fortnight ago.

Even though the game counted for little, the Storm skipper admitted the Red V’s performance was so impressive his side would need to pay close attention.

“We certainly can’t just put that aside, we’ll take that into account,” Smith said.

“I’m sure we will start looking at some vision over the next couple of days of that game.”

It is now less than a week until Storm kick off-season 2016.
