Skipper Cameron Smith will feature alongside halfback Cooper Cronk and 2015 Player of the Year Jesse Bromwich in Saturday’s trial match against the Bulldogs.

Craig Bellamy has named an experienced side for Melbourne’s final trial match before the beginning of the 2016 NRL Telstra Premiership season.

Along with the experienced trio, first-grade regulars Will Chambers, Marika Koroibete, Dale Finucane, Kevin Proctor and Blake Green will all feature.

“We are very pleased to select a near full-strength Storm side in preparation for Round 1,” Storm Football Director Frank Ponissi said.

“Saturday’s trial is important with a couple of positions up for grabs for Round 1, which is why Craig Bellamy has named an extended squad.”

Billy Slater and Cameron Munster will both sit out the final contest but continue to improve as the 2016 season opener approaches.

“Billy is progressing well, we have ramped up his contact training but decided to hold him back given we have a week off (following the trial),” said Ponissi.

“At this stage he is on track for Round 1.

“Munster is progressing well and looking at a return in either Round 1 or 2.”
