Melbourne Storm players have partnered with NRL Game Development Officers and Storm staff to help deliver the Back to the Juniors weekend at local VRL clubs.

Storm players were allocated to six VRL club venues and undertook specific volunteer roles during their visit. The 22 players lent their support by running the water, cooking the BBQ, serving at the canteen, acting as a team scorer and running a touch line.

The Back to the Juniors weekend concept involves those that work within the game to experience the role and importance of the rugby league's volunteers.

Victorians Richie Kennar and Young Tonumaipea volunteered at their former junior club Northern Thunder, while Mahe Fonua, was at the same venue where he played for South East Titans.
