Melbourne Storm halfback Cooper Cronk has explained his team will aim to return to their Round 1 defensive form when they meet the Sharks on Saturday night at AAMI Park.

After an evening where Manly scored three tries in nine minutes against Melbourne during a blistering period of attacking football, Cronk said his side must work out where it went wrong towards the end of the opening half.

"Round 1 was a really good performance, we took some giant steps in the right direction," Cronk said.

Be there when Storm take on the Sharks, Saturday 21 March from 7:30pm at AAMI Park.

"This week for a period of time we leaked points quite easily.

"I think that will be the focus of our meeting this afternoon and work out the reasons why.

"Our inconsistencies were basically what crippled our season last year and we don't want a repeat of that."

Speaking to the media on Monday, Cronk also elaborated on his newly formed combination with the five-eighth Blake Green.

"It's a developing relationship, in terms of taking workload it's just about finding that balance," Cronk said.

"We want to be able to play from different parts of the field, set up structures that compliment both of us.

"He's added some spark, he's added a new dimension on that left edge."

Storm will play their first home game of the season on Saturday night at AAMI Park against the Sharks from 7:30pm.
