The City of Casey proudly celebrated its partnership with Melbourne Storm during the Club's Community Round at AAMI Park, highlighting the strong connection between sport, community and culture.
Now in its fourth year of a five-year partnership with Storm, the City of Casey continues to support initiatives that bring local communities together.
A special Citizenship Ceremony was held at AAMI Park ahead of the match, where 52 Casey residents officially became Australian citizens. The group included 32 adults and 20 children representing seven different countries, marking an important milestone in their Australian journey.
City of Casey Mayor Stefan Koomen attended the ceremony alongside State Members of Parliament Belinda Wilson and Michael Galea, welcoming the new citizens.
Mayor Koomen also took part in an on field interview prior to kick-off, sharing the importance of community partnerships and the positive impact of rugby league across Casey region.
The celebrations continued throughout the day with strong representation from local rugby league clubs. They were also among approximately 500 Storm Junior League participants from across Victoria who completed a lap of honour before the game, creating a memorable experience for young junior players.
