RedZed partners with Storm Waka

Melbourne Storm is delighted to announce RedZed, the Club’s Major Partner, has strengthened its commitment by becoming the Presenting Partner of the Storm Waka Program.

Storm Waka provides development opportunities for young people aged 14 to 18 during school holidays and school hours, with a strong focus on supporting participants from diverse cultural backgrounds, particularly those with Māori and Pasifika heritage.

Since launching, the Storm Waka School Holiday Program has supported more than 500 young people. Backed by the Victorian Government since January 2025, the program is set to reach more than 800 participants by the end of the September school holiday period.

Storm Waka helps young people at risk of disengagement by strengthening individual and cultural identity in a fun, inclusive and engaging environment. The program also fosters a stronger sense of belonging for parents, families and the wider community.

RedZed CEO and Managing Director, Calvin Cordle said the organisation was proud to expand its club-wide support to the Storm Waka program.

“Our relationship with Melbourne Storm has always been grounded in a genuine commitment to community, and Storm Waka is a powerful extension of that,” Cordle said.

“Storm Waka is about more than sport. It’s about connection, culture and creating opportunities for young people to feel recognised, supported, and empowered.

“With more than 500 young people already having participated, we’ve seen firsthand the positive impact this program is making, and we’re excited to help it reach even more young people into the future.”

Melbourne Storm CEO Justin Rodski said the Club was proud to have RedZed’s commitment and support for Storm Waka as it continues to grow.

“We’re incredibly grateful to RedZed for deepening their commitment to Melbourne Storm and coming on board as the Presenting Partner of Storm Waka,” Rodski said.

“Storm Waka is built on strong partnerships with government, community organisations and leaders, and together with RedZed we’re creating meaningful outcomes that extend well beyond the rugby league field.

“RedZed’s continued support will allow us to further grow the program and provide opportunities for even more young people in the years ahead.”
