Feeder Report: Round 15

Melbourne Storm's feeder teams Sunshine Coast Falcons and the Brisbane Tigers were in action over the weekend, competing in Round 15 of the Queensland Cup, while North Sydney Bears had the bye.

Sunshine Coast Falcons

The Falcons delivered a dominant performance on Sunday, securing a 48-16 win over the Western Clydesdales.

Sunshine Coast came out firing, completely controlling the first half and effectively putting the game to bed by half-time. The Falcons crossed for eight tries in a blistering opening 40 minutes to lead 42-0 at the break.

While the Clydesdales showed more fight in the second half, scoring three tries, the Falcons remained in control, adding one more to their tally to seal the convincing victory.

Jonah Pezet played the full 80 minutes, continuing to build confidence and form in his return. Lazarus Vaalepu also impressed, delivering a strong performance in the front-row.

The Falcons will look to continue their winning form when they take on the Mackay Cutters this Saturday.

Brisbane Tigers

The Brisbane Tigers went down 28-16 to the Ipswich Jets in a tough match on Sunday.

The Tigers started well, taking a 12-8 lead into half-time after a solid first half showing. However, Ipswich bounced back strongly after the break, scoring four second half tries to swing the momentum.

Brisbane managed just one try in the second half, falling short in their attempt to hold off the fast-finishing Jets.

Josiah Pahulu, Coby Williamson, and Keagan Russell-Smith all featured prominently for the Tigers, with Pahulu getting on the scoreboard with a try of his own.

The Tigers will aim to bounce back when they take on the Souths Logan Magpies this Sunday.
