This week, Storm's playing group visited schools across Victoria as part of the club's community engagement initiative leading into Community Round this weekend.

The initiative saw Storm players connect with more than 2,000 students across over 15 schools statewide. The visits were aimed at building excitement for rugby league and reinforcing the club’s ongoing commitment to growing the game in Victoria.

Coordinated in partnership with NRL and NRL Victoria, the school visits featured rugby league clinics led by NRL and NRL Victoria staff, with Storm players jumping in to help run drills, participating and interacting with the students.

The players also took the time to engage with the students in a Q&A sessions where players shared personal stories, insights into professional sport, providing encouragement and inspiration for the next generation.

This initiative highlights Storm’s continued commitment to connecting with local communities and growing the game at the grassroots level. It complements the club’s annual Storm In Your Club visits where players go out to local NRL clubs across the state, visiting and interacting with local junior players.
With record participation numbers in Victorian rugby league reaching an all-time high of 6,000 player registrations in 2025, school and club visits will continue to play a vital role in continuing to build enthusiasm for rugby league in the state and building connection between Storm and the community.
