Feeder Report: Round 7

All three of Melbourne Storm's feeder teams were in action over the weekend for Round 7 of the Queensland and NSW Cup competitions.

Brisbane Tigers

The Brisbane Tigers faced off against the Townsville & Districts Blackhawks on Saturday, falling just short in a hard-fought 18–22 loss.

The Tigers had a slow start, going tryless in the first half and heading into the break trailing 2–22. However, they came out firing in the second half, crossing the line for three tries and keeping the Blackhawks scoreless. Despite the comeback, the early deficit proved too much to overcome.

Kane Bradley, Coby Williamson, and Keagan Russell-Smith all featured for Brisbane, with Bradley and Williamson each adding a try to the scoreboard.

The Tigers will be looking to bounce back this weekend when they take on the Capras on Saturday.

Sunshine Coast Falcons

The Falcons took on the Redcliffe Dolphins on Saturday and put in a strong performance to secure a 28-20 win.

It was a tightly contested battle throughout the day, with the Falcons holding a narrow lead heading into the halftime break, 16-14. They carried that momentum into the second half, ultimately finishing with a dominant display to claim the win.

Nelson Asofa-Solomona made a strong return in his first match back from concussion, delivering an impressive individual performance.

The Falcons will look to build on this win when they face Townsville & Districts Blackhawks this Saturday.

North Sydney Bears

The North Sydney Bears faced off against the Raiders on Sunday, unfortunately going down 26–36.

The Bears had a slow start, managing just one try in the first half and heading into the break trailing 24–4. North Sydney returned stronger in the second half, scoring four tries, though it wasn’t enough to chase down Canberra's lead.

Ativalu Lisati played the full 80 minutes and was a key contributor with his defensive efforts. Storm Academy player Jak Goulding also made an appearance off the bench.

The Bears will be looking to bounce back this week when they take on the New Zealand Warriors on Sunday.
