We look back on our ANZAC Day clashes so far

AAMI Park will host their 16th ANZAC Day match this Friday with Melbourne Storm facing the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Storm first played in the traditional ANZAC Day clash in 2009 facing the New Zealand Warriors. Since then Storm have won 11 of the 14 games they have played on ANZAC Day, against Warriors, Manly and Rabbitohs.

Melbourne will be looking to continue their strong performance this year when they host the Rabbitohs for the second time on Anzac Day.

ANZAC Day has become a cherished and honourable occasion for the Club. It has grown into one of the most memorable nights in the home and away season.

It has become a match that is enriched with history and has a final like feel about the game. This year is an extra special year with the Club jersey honouring Melbourne-born pilot Air Commodore Arthur Henry ‘Harry’ Cobby, whose remarkable career in aviation and military service spanned over 30 years.

Over the years, a range of players have featured in this traditional match, with several having made multiple appearances. Current players Cameron Munster and Nelson Asofa-Solomona are closing in on the most appearances, and will soon tie with Jesse Bromwich for second-most.

Additionally, Ryan Hoffman and Tohu Harris have played in the ANZAC Day clash for two different teams.
