Storm, Dragons face for Emergency Services Cup

As is tradition, when Melbourne Storm and St George-Illawarra Dragons go head-to-head Saturday night, they will not only be competing for the win, but for the Emergency Services Cup.

First launched in 2009 following the devastating Black Saturday Bushfires, the annual clash is dedicated to the emergency services personnel who commit their lives to protect local communities across Victoria and New South Wales.

Storm are the current holders of the cup after defeating the Dragons 42-6 at AAMI Park in Round 9 of the 2022 season.

Since its beginnings, the purple contingent have gone on to take home the cup 13 times, the Red V 6, with each win for the Dragons secured in their home state.
