Tyran Wishart: Season in Review

One of three debutants to make their way into first-grade in 2022, Tyran Wishart made a good first impression in year one in the top flight.

The son of Dragons legend Rod Wishart, Tyran began to show his promise in the early stages of pre-season, scoring a try in the Club's pre-season trial match against Newcastle in Ballarat.

Off the back of his strong pre-season form, Wishart earned his first-grade debut in Round 1 and was called into action earlier than expected after Brandon Smith's first half hand injury. With Harry Grant also missing from the side, the utility assumed the hooker position and went on to record 35 tackles, playing 78 minutes off the interchange.

Building on his strong debut showing, Wishart went on to be a part of 13 wins from 15 appearances. He filled the crucial utility role off the bench on many occasions, often playing out of his weight division amongst the forwards.

The utility's season was unfortunately cut short, suffering a syndesmosis in Round 23.

Recording a complete 88.8% tackle efficiency and 581 total run metres, Wishart shows promise for an exciting 2023.
