Season in Review: Tyran Wishart

Tyran Wishart’s utility was an invaluable asset to the Melbourne Storm squad in 2023, the 23-year-old filling in several positions across the season.

Across his 14 appearances, his defensive resilience was exemplified as he racked up 127 tackles, often playing out of position when the team was struck down by injuries and unavailabilities.

A natural half, Wishart got his first opportunity in the halves in Round 2 but would have to wait a further 25 rounds to get his next starting gig at halfback.

After impressing in Round 27 with one try assist, one linebreak and 147 run metres, Wishart's next game came in the Semi Final against the Sydney Roosters at AAMI Park.

The Gerringong Lions junior showed he wasn't overawed with the occasion, opening the scoring with a lovely show and go, slicing through in the 7th minute.

In the HostPlus Cup, Wishart’s offensive ability was on full display, recording eight tries, 28 goals and nine line break assists for the Sunshine Coast Falcons.
