Challenge awaits in run home

As the 2022 regular season nears its final crucial weeks, first-year Storm players Nick Meaney and Josh King have both shared their excitement as the business end of the season approaches.

Coming off a win over the reigning premiers in Penrith in Round 22, the importance of the next three weeks has not been lost on Meaney and King with Melbourne looking to consolidate their position inside the top eight.

“We've got three really big games towards the back end of the year, and I think that's really going to set us up,” King shared.

“If we get that really steely mindset and attitude, that will result in our defence – I think that will really help us.”

King: 'I've just been really enjoying my footy'

“I've played 80 odd games now and never played a semi-final game in those years, so I'm really looking forward to it,” Meaney admitted.

“I think it's a different beast compared to the regular season game.”

Slated to rematch with a roster of finals contenders in the run home, Craig Bellamy’s side are set to face Brisbane Broncos (away), Sydney Roosters (home) and Parramatta Eels (away) in the final three weeks of the season.

Meaney: 'It's a different beast'

“Last week was a big challenge for us and then we've got three big challenges coming up,” King added, reflecting the current mindset of the group.

“We're just focusing on us and taking each week as it comes...really trying to get that ‘Storm footy’ back into our game.”

They're not going to be handed to us, so we have to go out and earn them and put in good performances.
