WoS pushing for positive change

Closing out two weeks of Women in League celebrations, Melbourne Storm hosted the Club’s inaugural Women of Storm cocktail event on Friday afternoon at The Glasshouse.

With 120 guests in attendance, the initiative's first public event was hosted and brought to life by Women of Storm ambassador Jodi Lee and proudly supported by Suzuki, Coles, and new local partner, Banks Botanicals, who specialise in non-alcoholic spirits.

Full of energy and conversations, the room was filled with Storm members and fans, the Victorian rugby league community, partners and staff at The Glasshouse venue overlooking a picturesque AAMI Park.

Attendees heard from inspiring guest speakers; NRL Commissioner and former Queensland Government Minister Kate Jones, Melbourne Food and Wine Festival chair and former Westpac Investment Bank executive Pippa Crawford and Melbourne Storm Captain Christian Welch, who provided great discussions and insights on women in sport and gender equality.

The event went on to raise funds for the Victoria Women’s Trust, supporting the not-for-profit’s mission to create a gender-equal world.

Women of Storm is focused on celebrating the contribution of women in sport, while giving voice to those pushing for positive change, inclusiveness and equality.

Storm have a lot in store for this program and playing our part in changing the game.  Make sure to stay up to date with Women of Storm here.
