Brisbane Tigers climbed to sixth on the Hostplus Cup ladder by winning the only game played at the weekend, downing the Ipswich Jets 32-18 on Sunday.
Storm five-eighth Jayden Nikorima set up two tries and scored one of his own in another impressive display for the Tigers, who had fellow Storm players Jordan Grant and Jonah Pezet in their line-up.
After travelling back from NRL duties in Auckland, Grant ran for an impressive 168 metres in his 64 minutes of action, while Pezet again came off the interchange bench and played a key role in two of the Tigers’ three second-half tries.
The Tigers’ next game will be against the Sunshine Coast Falcons in a fortnight. In the meantime, the Falcons have a date with the PNG Hunters this weekend.
