Stats that Matter: Round 11 v Cowboys

Check out the important stats from Saturday night’s clash with the North Queensland Cowboys.

18

Trent Loiero made his impact felt on Saturday night coming off the interchange bench in the second half. Loiero topped the team stats with an impressive 10 hit-ups for 114 run metres, 55 post-contact metres, 2 tackle breaks and 18 tackles. The young forward’s metres gained was a team high on the night.

108

Working overtime in defence, second-rowers Felise Kaufusi and Kenny Bromwich both recorded 108 run metres on what was a tough night for Melbourne. With nearly identical stats all night, the pair showcased their now eight years of experience together on the field in the purple jersey with an in-sync performance.

34

Tui Kamikamica continued his solid return to the 2022 NRL season completing 34 tackles in a strong defensive effort against the Cowboys in their hometown. The result was one less than the Cowboys' top tackle performer, Tom Gilbert, who racked up 35.

Kaufusi went on to secure Storm’s first and only try of the night after a tidy set-play opened a gap for the No.11 to slid over the line in the first half. It was the second try the forward has secured in the 2022 season after scoring thanks to a break away effort in Round 4.
