Stats that Matter: Round 7 v Warriors

Check out the stats from Monday’s record-equalling win against the Warriors in our annual ANZAC Day clash at AAMI Park.

The equal most points scored in a game by Melbourne Storm. Craig Bellamy’s side were in peak form, laying down 13 tries, 7 conversions and 2 penalty goals in front of a strong home crowd.

The score equals the record for most points in a game for the Club, with the record set in 2000 against St. George-Illawarra.

Ryan Papenhuyzen continued his stellar start to the year, securing 22 points for Storm and breaking the club record for most points earned in an ANZAC Day match.

The achievement was previously held by Cameron Smith when he layed down 18 points in 2018 after 8 conversions and 1 penalty goal.

Captain Jesse Bromwich reached a milestone 10th ANZAC Day match on Monday night, the most of any Storm player. To mark the occasion, alongside it being his last with the Club, Bromwich charged through the Warriors defence to lay down Storm’s 12th try of the night.

Cameron Munster and Nelson Asofa-Solomona reached their 7th, while brother Kenny Bromwich and Felise Kaufusi clocked up their 6th appearances in the now traditional encounter.

Xavier Coates made his first ANZAC Day match one to remember, securing 4 tries in the purple jersey. Incredibly scoring 3 of the 4 in 8 minutes, Coates broke the record for most tries in an ANZAC Day match by a Storm player, previously held by former Storm centre Will Chambers.
