The fortnightly RedZed Report, bringing you updates direct from Storm HQ about our injury list, club news and all things footy.

Injury update

Nelson Asofa-Solomona (hamstring)

Sidelined since: Round 20

Despite being named in the extended squad last week, NAS was cut from the final 17 and will miss again on Saturday night.

We expect he will be right to go in round 25.

George Jennings (PCL)

Sidelined since: Round 18

George will be out for an indefinite period - no return date at this stage.

Tui Kamikamica (calf)

Sidelined since: Round 20

Tui has been named in the extended squad for round 24.

Dale Finucane (concussion)

Sidelined since: Round 22

Dale will be rested for another week following his head knock against the Raiders. Should be available for round 25.

Round 24 preview

Parramatta defeated Melbourne back in round two at Bankwest Stadium - they are one of only two sides to best Craig Bellamy's men in 2021.

The Eels had a morale-boosting win over the Cowboys last round, while Storm have not tasted defeat since round three - winning 19 on the trot to equal the all time record set by the 1975 Eastern Suburbs team.

Club news

Grant, Lumelume extend Storm contracts

Front-rower Jordan Grant will be part of Melbourne Storm’s top 30 squad for the first time in 2022 after signing a new contract with the reigning NRL premiers.

Fijian international winger Isaac Lumelume has also agreed to terms with the club for next season, while Bronson Garlick has signed a development contract for 2022.

King to swap Knights for Storm

Melbourne Storm has added Newcastle Knights forward Josh King to its NRL squad for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Storm General Manager – Football Frank Ponissi said King had received a strong recommendation from his former Knights teammate Tim Glasby who is now on Storm’s recruitment staff.

Josh displays a number of traits which we love at Storm, and look for in players we recruit, both with his on-field performance and his character and personality off the field.
