Munster finished the match with 146 metres from 19 runs, two line breaks, one try assist, one try and 30 tackles.
Harry Grant made the most tackles for either side (45) and scored a try from dummy half, while Ryan Papenhuyzen clocked up the most run metres for Melbourne (181) and converted five from six attempts.
Josh Addo-Carr scored a double and set up a try for Marion Seve.
