Melbourne Storm will partner with the Good Friday Appeal in 2021, helping to celebrate 90 years of giving for the kids.

The new initiative is part of the Storm’s push to create a permanent blockbuster fixture on Good Friday each year, supporting and raising funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Storm CEO Justin Rodski announced the partnership before jumping into a Melbourne Star cabin with club co-captain Dale Finucane as part of the “Escape from Neil’s Wheel” fundraising event today.

“The Good Friday Appeal is an event that we can all relate to in some way, either directly or having known someone who has been in the care of the wonderful people at the Royal Children’s Hospital,” Rodski said.

“So many children and their families have benefitted from the generosity of Victorians who donate to the appeal every year, even in tough times.

Melbourne Storm is fortunate to have loyal and passionate fans and partners who support our club each year. In three weeks’ time, when we run out on AAMI Park to take on the Broncos, we know our members, fans and partners will dig deep to help raise money for the appeal.

“We hope to see Good Friday as a permanent fixture for Storm in the years ahead so we can continue to raise funding for new equipment, staff training and medical research at the Royal Children’s Hospital.”

Good Friday Appeal Executive Director Rebecca Cowan welcomed Storm as a partner of the Good Friday Appeal, which celebrates 90 years of Giving for the Kids in 2021.

"The Good Friday Appeal brings together all sectors of the community to raise funds for The Royal Children's Hospital and we are delighted to be partnering with the Melbourne Storm in our 90th year,” Ms Cowan said.

Like the Appeal, Melbourne Storm has a special place in the hearts of many Victorians and we look forward to engaging with their players, staff and fans this year and into the future.
