The chase starts again

It’s been one year, five months and 19 days since Melbourne Storm last played in front of fans at their home at AAMI Park.

Come Thursday next week, when Jesse Bromwich leads the team out against the Rabbitohs, it’s expected a sell-out crowd of 15,000 Storm members and fans will welcome the premiers home.

Storm CEO, Justin Rodski, said the club could not wait to have fans back watching live football again.

“It’s great to be back at our home at AAMI Park. We can’t wait to give as many of our members and fans the chance to see the team play live after such a long period away,” Rodski said.

We’ve had amazing support from our Victorian members, corporate partners and fans who stuck by us through 2020 without seeing a single game live.

“They’ve all been part of our journey and it’s great that we can finally bring the premiership trophy back to AAMI Park for them.

“The response from our members redeeming tickets for the game has been outstanding in the last two days with nearly 7000 already redeemed and our corporate suites are sold out.

“Tickets will be on sale to the general public from 4pm today. Members can continue to redeem their tickets through this period, but should do so soon to guarantee their seat.”

Rodski said the planning put in place with AAMI Park and the Victorian Government will ensure everyone will be able to enjoy watching the footy from the stands once again with 50% of the venue open.

“We want people to feel safe and enjoy being back watching their team play. We know some things will be a little different when they buy tickets and come to the game, but that shouldn’t stop people from enjoying themselves.

“It’s been a great build up over the last couple of weeks. We had a full house at Albury watching our trial match, we announced Jesse and Dale as co-captains and launched the season on Wednesday night with our commercial and government partners at Crown.

“We have a number of exciting announcements to come next week as we count down to Thursday.

“Our players are excited, our staff are excited, our coaches are excited and we know our fans are excited too – for all of us, the chase starts again.”
