Unfortunately with the Queensland Government today closing its borders to Greater Melbourne for a 14-day period, Melbourne Storm’s pre-season trial against the NZ Warriors at Redcliffe next Saturday. February 20 has been cancelled.
The trial match will not be transferred to another venue.
Storm would like to wish the Redcliffe club all the best with the other pre-season game they have coming up at Dolphin Stadium in a fortnight.
The travel restrictions have also led to the cancellation of the “Storm x Lightning on the Sunny Coast” event which was scheduled to be held at Sunshine Coast Stadium next Friday.
However, we hope to be back on the Sunshine Coast later this year to meet up with our members and fans at a similar event, COVID rules permitting.
At this stage, the Saturday, February 27 trial against Newcastle Knights at Casey Fields will proceed as planned.
