Finucane: 'I’m quite optimistic that I’ll be involved in the game'

Co-vice captain Dale Finucane is feeling confident about a possible return for Friday night's preliminary final against the Canberra Raiders, pending training today.

Finucane has been sidelined with a calf injury since August.

"I did a little bit of running yesterday, had an 'off legs' day today and I’ll do some more running tomorrow," he told media on Monday.

"It’s probably only been in the last week that (the calf) has started feeling a little better.

I’m quite optimistic at the moment that I’ll be involved in the game on Friday.

"I’ll try and integrate completely with the team during today's (Tuesday's) training.

"I got through a contact component of training today and I didn’t have any issues with running the ball or getting tackled. That’s a positive sign."
