Finals Week 3 Feeder Wrap

A relentless Burleigh Bears side stunned the competition favourites at Pizzey Park on Sunday, securing their place in the Intrust Super Cup Grand Final.

The Sunshine Coast Falcons will now lament what could have been, given they lost just one match during the regular season and produced a record-breaking 14 game winning streak.

With a strong wind at their back in the first half, the Bears came out of the gates with ferocity and produced arguably their best 40 minutes of the season.

Their physical intensity and the kicking game of Pat Politoni and Jamal Fogarty returned an incredible seven forced dropouts in the first half alone.

The Falcons were courageous in defence and continually repelled the Burleigh attacks but suffered a massive loss when star halfback Todd Murphy was unable to return in the second half.

A late try to Nathan Saumalu was little consolation for a disappointed Falcons who dominated the competition during the year.
