Melbourne Storm has named its 21-man squad to face the Cronulla Sharks at PointsBet Stadium on Friday night.

The round 8 clash at Shark Park will be the Storm's first game in Sydney in season 2019.

Nelson Asofa-Solomona has been returned to the starting side after starting on the interchange bench against the Warriors.

Christian Welch will start on the bench this week, while Joe Stimson has been added to the squad of 21.

Albert Vete will be unavailable for 4-6 weeks after injuring his shoulder playing for the Easts Tigers in the Intrust Super Cup competition.
