Blair leaves Storm for Super League

Melbourne Storm has agreed to a request by Cheyse Blair to finish his time with the club so he can take up an opportunity with Castleford in the English Super League until the end of the 2022 season.

The switch will be effective immediately with Cheyse to head to the UK next week.

Cheyse played 38 games for Storm, and crossed for a total of 18 tries, after joining for the start of the 2016 season.

His debut came against the Gold Coast Titans in round nine when he memorably scored a try with one of his first touches in Storm colours.

Cheyse went on to play 17 games that season, helping Storm to win the minor premiership, and he started in the centres in the grand final against Cronulla.

He played 13 games for the Storm in the 2017 premiership season before injury unfortunately cut short his season.

Cheyse also appeared in last year’s finals series, scoring a vital four-pointer with six minutes remaining as part of a try-scoring double in the thrilling 29-28 qualifying final win against South Sydney at AAMI Park.

The club would like to thank Cheyse for his contribution on and off the field during his three-and-a-half years in Melbourne and wish him, his wife Tammy and children Billy and Charlie all the best for the future.
